Paper Tree House Blog Hop

Picnik collage

Welcome to Paper Tree House Studio's Friends, Love, and Faith Blog Hop.   As a paper artist, it’s so fun to get together and inspire one another through things such as blog hops.  This post is not only meant to inspire you through artwork, eye candy and prizes but also through the message.

I was so excited to find out the theme of this hop because Isaiah 40:31 is and has always been my life verse.  What does that mean?  For me, it’s the verse that stood out to me as a young girl (only 11 years old.)  That’s when it became very real to me and I began to understand that no matter what I am going through, when I spend time with Jesus, reading and praying, He is faithful and He gives me peace and strength.  Over all these years, I have come back to this verse time and time again to be reminded that no matter how hopeless the situation seems, He will carry me through and give me strength.  There is nothing quite like having that kind of peace in your life; knowing that whatever comes your way, God will help you through it.

If hope and pray that this verse has been and will continue to be an inspiration to you.

          On to the hop

Today, we're out in force on the internet -- showing our faith and giving the glory to God. United, we stand as Christian paper crafters and blog owners to make a presence on the internet for all to see. If you are hopping with us, you should have hopped over from Nancy.  If you happened to just come across this post and you want to join in on the fun, make sure you jump over to the beginning so that you do not miss out:

Paper Tree House Studio
We're celebrating the theme of faith and we're happy to share our projects with you based on the verse:

"...those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

First, we would like to take a moment to thank our generous co-sponsors: : Zutter, Paper Trunk, Create 365, Memorable Seasons, Scrapbook News and Review, as well as Papperie.  Together with Paper Tree House Studio, these companies have donated some wonderful prizes for today's blog hop.

Prizes?

Oh, yeah! There will be three lucky grand prize winners for today's event.

To enter, simply hop through the blogs and take note of all of the participating DT members of Paper Tree House Studio, and make sure to jot down the "blessed words" they will have in their post, and leave a comment on their posts. Once you gather all of the words, you will have another special Scripture to inspire you to create while leaving His legacy. Then send us an email at mypapertreehousedt@gmail.com listing each of the staff members who participated in today's hop and the completed Scripture. It's that easy. All entries must be received by Monday, February 28, 2011 at 12 noon, EST and seven winners will be randomly chosen to win.

What are the prizes?

One Cricut Gypsy from Paper Tree House Studio
One Bind-it-All from Zutter

One baggy of goodies from Create 365
One baggy of goodies from Papperie
One baggy of goodies from Paper Trunk
One year subscription to Scrapbook News and Review
One $15 gift card to Memorable Seasons so that you can purchase your favorite goodies!!

In addition, many of our participating bloggers will have amazing blog candy and RAKS available for one of their blessed visitors by simply leaving a comment and becoming a follower on their blog. That's a lot of chances to win, so let's get to the Hop!

I created this card with my friend Jaclyn in mind.  She is a young mom of three children who has been through the most tragic accident.  Yet, her and her family continue to trust in God as she gains small bits and pieces of her life back every day.  Their lives are full of gratefulness and thanksgiving.  It’s so inspiring!Paper Tree cardSupplies:  Cardstock – Bazzill; Pattern Paper – October Afternoon (Thrift Shop);  Spellbinders Die template – S4-310 Labels Eighteen; Ribbon – May Arts;  Brad – 7 Gypsies; Button – Grandma’s drawer

As well as the fabulous prizes listed above, I wanted to offer you a chance at a little something myself.  Pictured here are some Pink Paislee Rub-ons, a Maya Road mini bird album and some Doodlebug Design brads.  This RAK will close at the same time as the hop.  Please be sure to contact me if you are a winner. My last blog winner has still not contacted me and if I can’t get in touch with her, I will be offering up that RAK again soon.

It’s a Sweet Party!!

happy birthday LOC copy

Welcome to the

Layers of Color
Cake Decorating Party!

This may just prove to be the most yummy blog hop you have ever experienced.  There is an amazing group of  crafting chefs who can’t wait to inspire you with their delicious pieces of art work.

If you had a chance to see the sneak I posted a few days back, you’ll recognize this as the birthday card I created for our celebration!  I have a few good high school friends who celebrate their birthdays in this month but other than that, I don’t have any close family members to shout out to this month but I know I will be sending this out to someone special very shortly!

To create this card I stamped a Layers of Color Floweret stamp and a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Wishes Clear Art stamp set on cream cardstock.  I then used a Spellbinders S4-116 Standard Circle SM to cut and emboss a circle.  I framed it with a S4-293 Lacey Circles.  I covered my card base with pattern paper, trim and pearls.

After coloring my stamped image with my copic markers, I adhered the entire circle on to my card base. I then added a bow and a Webster’s Pages Cameo to top of it off!

Now, this is my first attempt at a piece of paper cake.  LOL It was quite fun to put together.  I used the same Layers of Color Floweret stamp that I used on my card and fussy cut around it. There are two of the same image, one on each side.  Then to add a little texture to the frosting on the bottom, I used a Layers of Color Belle Brocade art Stencil and Clearsnap Chalk Ink.  The very delicious, chocolate rim was created using Spellbinders Fair Isle Borderabilities® Petite die template.

Happy Valentines Day!!

for my lovely friend

Hi friends!  Happy Valentine’s Day to you!  I’m feeling so blessed and loved by all my friends and family today.  I made this sweet card for a special friend.  When I saw the Appearance of Cameos challenge on the Moxie Fab World blog, I knew right away it was a perfect opportunity to use my Webster’s Pages Cameo.  I tend to tuck those sweet treasures away because they are just so pretty!  The Moxie Fab World is oozing with inspiration if you’re havin’ the urge to create somethin’ pretty!

Be Mine Valentine

Be Valentine 2

Happy Friday!!  I wanted to share a pretty  Valentine’s Card that I put together.  It’s non traditional colors but I think the soft palette is perfect for Valentine’s Day!  The paper I used is from Webster’s Pages.  I’m really discovering what my style is as a continue to gravitate to more romantic, elegant prints rather than the clean and bold.  The flower inside the bow is a Webster’s Pages bloomer.

The heart stamp and sentiment are both Waltzing Mouse Stamps. I sprayed adhesive over the heart and added Sparkle n Sprinkle glitter.   The scalloped edge is one side of a Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Square die template.  I added a little Maya Road trim to it as well.

There is still time to enter for the RAK below.  Hope today is the start of a fabulous weekend for you!

Give Away Time!!

I’m back from CHA.  What a trip!  The best one yet for me.  We had such a great time in the Spellbinder’s booth and getting to know everyone so much better!  We even had the opportunity to see some of the show.  Unfortunately, I accidently left my camera on before I left and I had a dead battery by the time I got there!

Julie-and-Kazan-wb

My good friend Kazan, who I was blessed to room with while at the show, sent me this picture of the two of us.  I’m sorry I don’t have any booth shots.  I know that that Spellbinders has some up on their blog and on their facebook page and Kazan has some great ones on her blog  as well.  I did get to see some amazing art work and fantastic new product while I was there!  It’s no secret that other than Spellbinders, some of my fave’s were Pink Paislee, Webster’s Pages, Maya Road and Crate Paper.  Yum!

dt book

When I first got my new die templates several months back, I wanted to come up with a quick way to store some of the new ones.  I put this book together but then didn’t get a chance to share it.  I wanted to explain how I did it.  First, I cut down magnetic vent covers.  Second, I cut a two pieces of cardboard the same size for the front and back cover.  I added paper and altered the cover with a quick, simple design.  I stamped a Victorian Frame stamp from Layers of Color and then cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Fourteen die template.

die template book 2

After that, I punched holes with my Zutter and used Bind it All wire to bring it all together.

IMG_4684

I hope this is is a helpful tip for you ins storing your die templates!

While at CHA, I wasn’t able to take a bunch of fun photos to share but I did still want to share a RAK with my blog readers who have been ever so patient with me!

blog candy

In this photo is the latest issue of Paper Creations which I have a card featured.  When I arrived home, I ended up with my box of two copies and my card!  So, I want to give away this extra one, along with a current issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.   Also in the picture is some Queen and Co. pearls and a tissue flower.  We created these tissue flower pins as a make and take in the Spellbinder’s booth.  They are so fun to make!  Last but not least is a fabulous new black Spellbinder’s t shirt!!

Leave a comment on this post if you are interested in this RAK and I will leave it open until next Friday, midnight PST.
