Congrats zoom

I began to clean up my mess from yesterday so I could get started on a layout.  But, I just couldn’t help but create another card while all my stuff was out.  On this one I did some fussy cutting with the floral print that came in the Authentique Blissful 6x6 pad.  Instant flowers!  I also used one of my favorite Spellbinders™ Nestabilities™; S4-310 Labels Eighteen.  I know I’ve used it a lot lately but it just never gets old in my mind!

I will be doing a book review for my next blog post.  If you are loving your Copics or have wondered what all the rage is about, you’ll want to check out this book:  Copic Coloring Guide.

And before I sign off, I have to share my exciting news!  Creating Keepsake July/August has it the stands and I have a double page layout in it!  Although I’ve been pub’d in many magazines, I’ve always wanted to be published in this one.  The layout is called ‘Touching Lives’ on pg. 17.

Thanks so much for letting me share!

Yummy Yellow Authentique Card!

yellow miss you

Hey there!  Checkin’ in to announce a winner and share a card I made today.  I am absolutely in love with yellow and grey this summer.  I was completely smitten when I saw this line by Authentique.  You can find them on Facebook if you are not yet familiar with them.  They have several lines that are just gorgeous and as soon as I get more play time, you’ll be seeing more projects with it!

On this card I also used SpellbindersS5-050 Rose Creations and S5-031 Fancy Tags Three;  Webster’s Pages Bloomers;  Bazzill Cardstock; Melissa Frances Metal button and Authentique Alphabet stickers.

This weekend we had warm enough weather to go to the beach and I snapped all my photos in manual.  Most of them turned out great and I’m soooo happy to be having control of my camera.  I’ll spare you the million photos that I took but I have to share just one.  This one took my breath away.

She is nine.  NINE!!  What???

I don’t know if it’s the sunglasses or what, but when I saw this photo, I had a flash forward to her asking for car keys.  LOL  I know it’s going to happen all too soon!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!

Okay, on the exciting shtuff!!  Thanks for all the comments about my new room!  To answer some of your questions, the color is Halcyon Green.  It looks very blue and at other times very green.  I love it!  I’ve realized that I am not going to be able to wait until it’s all organized before I create so I’m taking it in chunks.  Once I get the cabinets in, it will be much easier to put things where they belong.  I will share more photos then!

I used Random Generator for the winner of the RAK I posted.

Spellbinders™ Shape Card

In-all-things-of-Nature copy

Hi my friends!  Things are moving along at a snails pace in the Overby household; at least as far as my new room goes.  The RAK I have going is still open, so you have a chance to benefit from all my cleaning and organizing.  ha!

I wanted to share a quick card before I get back at it.  It’s a shape card that I made using Spellbinders™ Grand Labels One, Labels Eighteen and the new Crafter’s Home Nested Butterflies Two die templates.  I used some of my favorite My Mind’s Eye pattern paper for the back ground and created a window that frames the Flourishes stamp that I placed in the middle.

Have you tried a shape card yet?  They are super fun to make and very easy!  Hope you you’ve been inspired today!  I’m off to continue with the desperate attempt to get organized.  Toodles!

And this is a shot of the carpet.  Love the flourishes!

Shabby Chic Card and an update!!

Lovely friend

If you are still with me, I consider you a very lovely friend!  LOL  I can’t even believe that it’s been over two weeks since a blog post.  I was so sick before our trip so I couldn’t preschedule anything.  Then when we got back, we were busy with fieldtrips and end of the year concerts, Graduation etc.  I think that was the busiest week evah!  On the last day of school dh and ds got very sick so it’s been nuts around here!

The card above using October Afternoon papers and Spellbinders Labels Fourteen die template was in Paper Creations magazine a few months back.  I stamped a Gina K. Design sentiment on to Creative Imaginations Wood paper and then cut/embossed it.

Are ready to see some paint?  We went from this…

IMG_3346

….to this in the last few weeks.  I took the photos below this morning so you can see that our living space is not being….lived in.  We are cramming our family of five into our bedroom and kitchen space.

IMG_4110

Not complaining!  I’m super excited to be near the finish line! Here is our dining room with new travertine tile.  It hasn’t been sealed yet but it’s nearly ready for us to move furniture in!  Can’t wait!

IMG_4108

And this, is my new favorite room!  I’m loving the light that pours in from the two sky lights and windows.  This was also taken this morning.  Carpet comes on Thursday and hopefully we will be moving in furniture this weekend.

IMG_4095

Guess what that means??  A MAJOR scraproom clean out!  Because you guys have been so patient with me, I want to do a nice size RAK as I clean out my room.  I started last night.  I will post a photo of it in the next blog post.

Hope your summer is starting out fabulous!  I’m so happy to have my kids home…my favorite time of year.  ; )
