2 sketches challenge

Supplies:  Mint Motif (Very Square, Very Square Sentiments,) Die Template Cardstock – Worldwin, Papertrey Ink, Pattern Paper – Thrift Shop, Mesh – Burlap, Buttons – Misc, Ink – Papertrey Ink, Ranger

It’s a sketch week for me!  LOL Mint Motif is sponsoring 2 Sketches 4 You this and Laura has come up with a fabulous sketch 55 for your chance to play along! I got some fun trims in the mail yesterday and goodies from I {heart} Papers so I decided to dive in right away!

Check out the 2S4Y blog for more details on how you could win your very own Mint Motif Very Square stamps!

Today I had an audience while taking photos of projects of several projects that I can’t yet share.  ; (  I’m sure many of you designers can relate to the neighbors looking at you strangely, as you snap away at some random piece of paper (who knows what they think it is!)  Today however, I nearly stepped on my on-looker.

Moxie Fab Inspiration and some layouts!

 Moxie

When I saw this Moxie Fab challenge, I knew I wanted to play along.  I love vintage looking bikes and the inspiration on the blog was so fun!  The challenge is called ‘I Want to Ride My Bicycle Challenge.’  If you have a bike in your stash that’s screaming to be used, here’s your chance!

I can’t wait until our family hits all the bike trails in Sunriver.  The kids talk about all year.  There’s nothing quite like riding a bike on big open road!

And a few contrasting layouts!

the pianist

My sweet girly, girl dreaming of being a concert pianist!  We are so blessed to have the kids in piano lessons.  They all really enjoy and  couldn’t be more thrilled.  I’m extremely grateful for the amazing teacher.

Bring it on

Then there’s my boy…what opposites!

I’m not usually one for using sketches but both of these were inspired by sketches.  As matter of fact, there’s still a bit of time to enter the Collage Press contest if you are one who loves to use sketches.  You can check out the details here on their blog.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous!  We took Max to the beach and it was perfect!  I sure hope we get a few more warm days like that this summer.  I made myself leave my camera at home and all though it was a bit painful it was also quite freeing!

Blessings on your day!

More Mint Motif

IMG_7066 copy

This is a soft card I created using some of the new Melissa Francis papers and of course a Mint Motif  sentiment stamp!!  I’m loving the sentiments from this new set that I got.  I made this card for someone very special in my life who I can’t imagine being without.  Love you!

Do you love surprises?? I love to surprise people and I LOVE surprises myself!  This amazing box just arrived on my doorstep and I was ecstatic!  It was the Summer copy of Scrapbook and Cards Today.  I love this magazine and have wanted to published in it for some time.  This is the issue I am in!  I got my box of goodies and my magazines already.  That was FAST!

Do you see the stack of yummies under the magazine??  I had a sweet friend drop by this morning and she let me know about a local place that was giving away free books and that some of them were old classics.  I hopped in my car the moment she left!

fab finds

The one on top is an old book called Anderson’s Fairy Tales and it is packed with fabulous art and amazing goodness!  I’m thrilled.

Back to crafting.

Hope your day is spectacular!

Shaped Cards **swoon**

I think I’m in love with shape cards. That’s all I ever seem to want to do! They are so fun and so easy. This one I created with my Spellbinders™ Dahlia die template. I made it for Clip It Up with the gorgeous Graphic 45 supplies that I was sent. Yum!

dahlia card

They are a little tricky to take pictures of because they don’t always stand up on their own how you would like them to!

I wanted to post the winner of the June give-away right away.

Congrats Valerie! Email me at julieoverby@peak.org and I will be sure to get your prize to you.Fun news!! Scrapbook Trends picked up one of my Christmas cards. So fun! Thanks for lettin’ me share in my excitement!

Yesterday we we took the kids to Omsi and it was so much fun!! I think we could have spent three more days in there to really enjoy everything. We watched the Imax film called Hubble and I was just in total awe of how fast our Universe is! I’m convinced that God created it that way just so we would have a slight better understanding of how great and mighty HE is!! Really we cannot even begin to understand how huge He is. And to think….He loves lil’ ol’ me. That’s a great thing for me to remember as I start of my day! Hope yours is blessed as well!

Mint Motif, Clip it Up AND a GiveAway!

Clip it up five

Stamps – Mint Motif (Very Square, Very Square Sentiments - AVAILABLE at iheartpapers.com Kraft cardstock; Pattern Paper – Pink Paislee (Bayberry Cottage) Stickers – American Crafts (Thickers – Honey) Ink – Ranger Distress In, Versa Magic

This is a fun little card that I made with my Mint Motif stamps.  I created for my Clip It Up post which you can read about on their blog.  There is direction on how it all came together in that post.

Well, it’s that time of year again!  Twice a year CHA comes and most manufacturers are building with anticipation as they get ready to release their new products.  In the mean time, us designers are working madly on art for the show and getting to play with the new products.  Super fun!  However, we can’t share anything we are working!  Trust me when I say I’m having a good time!

It’s also that time of year when the kids are now home so I’m starting to experience my crafting outlet differently;  playing with moon sand, coloring Tinker Bell ect.  LOL  I am cherishing every moment.

That being said, I beg you to be gracious with me on the absence of blog posts in this last week!  I am ready to post a Give Away!

June giveaway

yay!!  If you are interested in a few Glitz, Doodlebug Designs and Making Memories Rub-ons, along with a K-ology paper pad and embellies than leave a comment to be entered before Monday, June 21st, 9 pm PST.

Time to relax! (Spellbinders™ bath set)

bathgiftset edited

Supplies: Spellbinders S4-114 Standard Circles LG; S5-023 Mega Ovals LG; S5-024 Mega Classic Scalloped Ovals LG,  My Mind's Eye, Lush Blue Diamonds Patterned Paper; Fancy Pants Designs, Cream Roadshow Buttons; SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES BY 3L, 3D Foam Squares

I created this bath set for Spellbinders using the Mega Ovals LG that I just love!  You can see how simple and elegant they can look just by layering the the scalloped one behind.

I’m thinking about breaking into the set and having a spa day.  Ha!  Not going to happen!  Actually, my dh and I just got back from a trip across the country to Atlanta.  We’ve been gone for a week and had an amazing time at our International Foursquare Pastor’s Convention.  It was great connecting up with people all around the world and especially fun meeting up with all my Florence Ave.  family/friends and my LIFE Pacific friends too!  It was like one big ol’ reunion.  There is nothing more refreshing than getting together with some of your closest friends and catching up.  As far as connecting, I think this was the best convention for me yet.

us girls

Recognize these two?  They are my peeps that I went to Texas with awhile back.  We had the best time evah!  So good to see you guys!  Miss you already!!

Now we are home and I am still unpacking!  My youngest dd lost her first tooth while we were gone.  *sniff*   She looks adorable!

So, here we are to June already and I just can’t believe how the time is flying by!  I found out some exciting things while gone and one of them was that I had a few of my Spellbinders projects picked up for Paper Creations magazine.  That’ll be a first with them so I’m thrilled!  It’s been a while since I had a give-away so I think I’m going to have June one coming up later this month.

I hope to take some time to catch up with all my blog buddies later this week.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
