Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger

grandma

I love butterflies!! I also love all the pastel colors that explode during Spring. When I saw this cute dress on Moxie Fab World for the Tuesday Trigger, I knew I’d have to play along.

**photo below taken from Moxie Fab World blog**

This week's Tuesday Trigger comes to us from Jaclyn Miller:

And in the same day, this most lovely box arrived on my door step. Look what someone sent me! Heavenly!

It’s a Celebration! With Blog Candy!

Before we move on to celebrating,  wanted to share a card that I created using JustRite Thinking of You Borders Centers stamps for this weeks challenge.  It was to create a sympathy card.  You can read more about it on their blog.

sympth card

Supplies:  Die templates - Spellbinders™ S4-247 Labels Twelve, S4-246 Labels Eleven, Stamp - JustRite Thinking of You Borders, Cardstock – Bazzill, Pattern Paper – Graphic 45, Trim – Webster’s Pages, Lace – AMM, Pearl- Prima, Markers – Copic

One thing I have realized in the last few days is that I need to stop blogging late at night.  Oh my!  I could not believe how many things I said or spelled wrong in my last blog post.  LOL  I’m so glad I decided to reread it this morning.  Guess I should do that every time.  Ha!

On to the celebration!!  We just finished celebrating K’s birthday.  I truly cannot fathom the fact that she is six now.  Serious?  She has such a bright fun personality.  Sometimes I think she may believe that she is at least fourteen.    She wanted so badly to go to a hotel and go swimming for her birthday.  Here she is in her new ‘swimsuit.’  Too cute, huh?  If I could only slow down time!  ugh!

Kelsey

Then we spent some time with celebrating with our extended family.  It was a lot of fun!

On to the blog celebration!!  I wanted to have a little Give-Away to celebrate the new look (which is still a work in progress!) and to celebrating reaching Fifty Thousand hits.  It’s just my little way of saying thank you for stopping by.  I hope I’ve been able to inspire you in some way.

So, if you are interested in winning this blog candy….

Here is what I created with two of my favorite stamp sets from JustRite (Loving Thoughts Centers and Think of You Borders and Centers.)

JR card one copy

Supplies: Justrite Stamp Sets: Loving Thoughts Centers 1-5/8", Thinking of You Borders & Centers; Spellbinders™ S4-248 Labels Thirteen, Kraft Cardstock – Papertrey Ink, Pattern Paper – Webster’s Pages; Pearls – Jenni Bowlin Studio, Recollections;Ink – Ranger Distress Ink; Copic Markers – BV-000, YG63, R85, Trim – All My Memories, Ribbon – Papertrey Ink; Ink - Versa Magic Chalk Ink; Glitter – Sparkle N Sprinkle, Glitter Ritz, Felt – Prima Marketing

I stamped my sentiment first. Then I stamped my beautiful bouquet beside it. After that I was able to line up my Labels 13 die template perfectly and cut/emboss it. After coloring with my Copics, I added some glitter which is hard to see in the photo but it's truly my favorite part of the card! Just a tiny bit in the center of each flower is all you need to add a touch of sparkle.

Ashley’s class went to Heceta Head Lighthouse for their fieldtrip and it was heavenily! It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day!! We hiked up from the bottom to the gorgeous house which is a Bed and Breakfast. Then we hiked further on to the actual lighthouse and took a tour inside. The view of the ocean was specatular!

Ribbon Festival

baby

Do you know what I love about Spellbinders™?  10 minute cards.  Seriously, I needed a super quick baby card today before running out to school and I was able to do this in probably 7 minutes.  No sewing or distressing.  Quite plain….but done!  LOL Do you ever have those ‘AH!!  I need a card!!!’ moments?  It’s great to have them on hand, but when you don’t, I love to have a quick back up plan!

So here are the photos I wanted to share with you from the weekend.

These photos are so precious to me.  This is the first time our kids played in front of an audience.  The teacher kept saying it would be very casual and not many people.  There would be different things going on in different rooms and people coming in and out.  This photo above is in the lobby of the performing arts theater.  BUT, then we got to the duets and they were on the main stage on this beautiful grand!  *gasp!*  That didn’t seem very informal to me at all!  It was so absolutely amazing and both the kids did fantastic.  Ashley played a duet with her good friend Avery.  A.J. did a duet with his teacher. Then they both did their memorized piece.  I was so proud of them!

IMG_6096

We went to the most beautiful place in the world for Ashley’s field trip today.  I can’t wait to share those photos….it’ll have to wait.  We are off to a celebration!

Oh!  And speaking of celebrations, I can hardly believe this blog has nearly had 50,000 hits!  As it reaches that (in the next day or two) I will be posting a give-away with some Spellbinders™ goodies.

Have a fabulous weekend!  Spring break!  WAHOO!!  We have a ton of stuff planned and I’m so excited!!!

A tad bit of green!

0110 JO Surprise Box Alt 72

0110 JO Surprise Box inside Alt 72

0110 JO Surprise Box lid Alt 72

Supplies:  Spellbinders™ S4-112 Classic Ovals SM; S4-198 Flourish Accent; S4-232 Blossom Two; S5-022 Labels Ten; S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand, Pattern Paper - My Mind's Eye, Deena's Penny Lane Maggie, SEI; Clearsnap, Chestnut Roan Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink; Creative Impressions, White Bits of Bling Pearl, Flower Center – Prima Marketing

This is the second lil’ box that I have created like this.  Every time I go away to a trade show or a retreat, I leave one of these boxes out filled with notes and treats to the kids telling them how thankful I am to have them and how much I miss them.  They totally look forward to it when I leave.  It’s so funny.   This one I created before I left for CHA in January.  I had so much fun creating the flower out of the Spellbinders™ Blossom Two die template.  I’m not sure if it’s because spring is upon us or what but I just loving all the flowers I’ve been seeing lately.  There are so many cool ways to create your own homemade flower.  And then there are the pre-made ones that cost a fortune but seriously….they are GORGEOUS!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper – Chatter Box, Flower – Basic Grey, Stickers – American Crafts, Trim – Prima Marketing

This is a quick thank you card I put together using some of my favorite colors right now.  Just loving the leaf green and yellow.

Yes!  It’s sunny out today….finally!!  And I am sooooo ready for spring and more green and yellow. Speaking of green…..yes it’s St. Patty’s day (I nearly forgot) and I don’t have a special card for that.  Sorry!  My day started putting out the fire between my 10 year old who insisted to my 5 year old that she wear green or she would be pinched all day.  *sigh*  She was just in tears and did NOT want to change.  My 8 year old is getting to have green pancakes at school in her class today.   Hmmm….one way or the other, I hope you get a tad bit of happy green in your day today!

The basketball tournament went well and the Ribbon Festival was amazing.  I’ll be doing a post about that tomorrow with some fun photos.

So, jumping all over the place this morning, I have to share this link with you.  Some of us were discussing it the last few days on one of my design teams.  It’s a live close up feed of a hummingbird that had a few eggs that were getting ready to hatch.  I missed the drama yesterday because I’ve been working but apparently a lizard came by and she ended up throwing (how does a bird a throw?) one of the eggs at the lizard.  So, was the egg bad?  Or was she sacrificing one to safe the other?  Then, she ended up leaving the nest for quite some time late last night so now the debate is up whether or not this egg is bad.  Anyhoo….in the spirit of spring…it’s quite an interesting live chat going on in the side bar.  Check it out if you have extra time and want to see a sweet Hummingbird up close.  She really is absolutely beautiful.

And here is a site about Phoebe (the Mama.)

http://phoebeallens.com/faq.html

*edited*  Oh man, I just found the link to the video where the lizard invades.  Unreal.  I can’t seem to link it but it is posted above the live chat.  Very interesting!  (now I know how a bird throws an egg…with her beak!)

Have a sunny and blessed day my friends!

CARDS

sending thoughts copy

I was inspired to create a few cards for a pub call that CARDS magazine had.  One of them was to use leaf green, melon orange, blue and clouds.  ??  Not even sure what melon orange is but I love a good challenge and because these are colors I would probably never put together on my own, LOL I decided to give it a try!  AND, strangely enough, the two packs of cardstock that I order from Papertrey Ink were leaf green and this melon color.  How could I not try?

Then, just for fun and because I wanted to play with my new die templates and stamps, I created these two minis.

it's a boy copy

We are off to AJ’s basketball tournament.  Should be a fun weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Justrite Stampers

zoom 4

The Justrite blog hop is just around the corner!  I decided to try out my new stamp set and have fun with some embossing.  It’s my design day at on the Clip It Up blog and that’s where you can read the instructions on how to make this card.   I was actually able to use my Clip it Up to store a bunch of my Justrite stamps.  It was nice to have them all together, hanging in one place!

Love card

Supplies:
Die Template - Spellbinders™ (Labels Three) Stamps – Justrite (Decorative Frame Set, Loving Thoughts Set) Glimmer Mist (Tattered Angles – Coffee) Embossing Power – (Sparkle n’ Sprinkle) Cardstock – Papertrey Ink Pattern Paper – Hambly Studios Screen Print – Hambly Studios  Trim – Prima Marketing
Pearls – Reflections

I have to tell you, my five year old never ceases to amaze me.  I was making a quick birthday card for a friend of mine.  Birthday cards are NOT my favorite to make.  I think I finally realized yesterday it’s because out of all the massive sets of stamps that I have, I don’t seem to have any great birthday stamps.  I was pleased to find this cute cake stamp (Justrite) but I didn’t have the right size/shape sentiment that said Happy Birthday.

Well, as the story goes, my sweet lil’ 5 year old wanted to make a card too.  She wanted to use this sparkly paper (not my fave either.)  But, this was about us doing a few projects together.  She came up with the cutest design.  But then she looked over at mine and said… ‘I want to color mine like yours’ and then…. ‘I want to put a bow on too…ect.’  It was so cute that she wanted to do everthing like mine.  Then she asked if she could take a photo and put it up on my blog!  LOL  Too precious!!  She even wanted to the photo herself.  So, I bit my tongue and watch her annihilate my ever so precious Copic markers, I just kept reminding myself that Copics won’t pick up other colors and it will all just be okay.  So there you have it….a lesson in sharing.  And look at this adorable card that she came up with!  (yes…she used my Spellbinders™ die templates and machine too!)

My sweet 5 year olds card:

And here is a lil’ peek of what mine looks like!

Now we are busy with finger paints….yikes!!  LOL

One more piece of exciting news!!  You I love our puppy….(is he really a puppy?  man he is sooooo big!!) Max.  Gotta love him.  BUT, big dogs (even puppies) have a LOT of energy.  LOTS!  Can I tell you how much my life has changed in the last few days since my darling husband put up a fence in our back yard!!  Oh my!!  It is ugly and it is temporary but it is HEAVEN!!  Max is running out there like a crazy dog right now having a party of his own!

For those of you new to my blog, let me introduce you.IMG_3344-1

I know.  Isn’t he the cutest thing ever?  Ya. But he is like….THREE times as big as he is in this picture and still only six months old!

I luv ya Max.
