Stamps and Stains!

Good Monday morning to you!  Hope you've had a spectacular weekend!  We had some nice weather here and the girls jumped in the pool for the first time even though it was FREEZING cold!

Here is one of the cards I did for the class I taught on Thursday.  I used Tim Holtz stains on the Penny Black rubber stamp to create the flowers.  Then I cut it out with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five and inked the edges.  I stamped a JustRite Stampers sentiment on cardstock and cut it out with a Spellbinders Ribbon Banner.   It's the first time working with Ranger Stains.  It was a lot of fun creating!  Each card had some kind of new technique.  I'll be posting the others soon.

Blessings on your day!

NinaB Designs Blog Hop!!

Welcome to another NinaB Designs blog hop!

The NBD team has something exciting for you today!   Nina has challenged us to create something that uses the NinaB Designs Spellbinders die cuts from non-paper products on their projects. Did you know that Spellbinders dies can cut all kinds of material? Kim Hupke, the Educational Director of Spellbinders Paper Arts did a video showing all types of products you can cut with the dies that you can find HERE.

For my project today, I cut thesweet little hearts out of 100% wool using NinaB Designs' Home Sweet Home dies.  I also cut the Classic Oval die template from wool.

For this card I used LilyBee Designs Buttercup 6x6 pattern paper pad with Spellbinders S4-342 Square Swatches.  After inking them with Ranger Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, I adhered them on to my card base and sewed them down.

Next, I cut out a Spellbinders S4-110 Classic Oval Lg from 100% wool felt.  I also cut out the tiny hearts from the same felt.  Even though these dies are tiny, they cut through the wool beautifully!  After adding a bit of stitching to the wool, I adhered it to the card.

Using Nina B Designs' Sewing Elements set, I cut the sewing machine from Bazzill Bone cardstock and inked it with Frayed Burlap ink.  I used foam squares to adhere it to the oval.  I stamped the sentiment using The Crafter's Meow stamp set called Sew Lovely.  I cut around it to create a banner an inked the edges.  After adhering it to the card, I added the felt buttons and trim.

Here are the dies I used:

Mother, You Never Cease to Amaze Me

Hey, Julie here!  So very excited to share with you my first project for GCD Studios' Blog!

Photobucket

Mother's Day is such a special time to me.  I'm blessed to be a Mom but I also have such an incredible Mother of my own.  It's hard to live far away from family and every year I write in my handmade Mother's Day card that I wish I was there to celebrate together.  Well, for the first time ever, I am back in my home town, and celebrating with her!  So, for this year I decided to do a layout in honor of my Mom.

Photobucket

Splendor:  noun brilliant or gorgeous appearance.

Seems fitting for these two lovely ladies in this photo!  Also, the gorgeous color palette in the Splendor Collection was perfect for this photo of my Mom and Grandmother. I decided to take a second piece of the Floral Frame paper and fussy cut this gorgeous bouquet.  Then I inked the edges and applied diamond glace to give it a shiny finish.

Photobucket

After it had dried, I used foam squares to adhere it straight over top the original image.

Photobucket

I wanted to incorporate some of the beautiful colors from this line so I used my Spellbinders die templates to create some embellishments.  After cutting/embossing these Edgeabilities, I adhered a strip of cream paper so it could peak through the openings.

Photobucket

I also layered some borders and fun shapes.  Before adhering the Bitty Blossoms, I added glitter and a pearl.

Photobucket

Lastly, I added my title and gushed in my journaling about amazingly awesome my Mom is and how blessed I am to have a Grandmother who gave her a great example to live by.

Supplies:  Floral Frame (1677) - Splendor, Heirloom (1678) - Splendor, Zig Zag (1687) - Splendor, Woven Chevron (1686) - Splendor, Letter Tiles (1680) - Splendor, Labels and Tags (1679) - Splendor,

I hope you get a chance to journal about your Mom some time soon!

Wishing You Happiness!

Hi my friends!!  I hope you've had a fabulous first weekend in May!  We are enjoying some great sunshine here!  To start this week, I wanted to share with you this card I created with My Mind's Eye Mrs. Caroline papers and Spellbinders die templates (S5-033 Bird Sanctuary, S5-071 Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.)  The sentiment comes from a MFT Birthday set.  I made the card for Memories and More where I am working now.  They carry such an enormous amount of Spellbinders Dies and just about everything else you could imagine too!  I love working there and have loved the chance to meet so many people.  The class I taught on Saturday went well and I will post photos about NSD soon!

I also wanted to mention there are two more days to get your name in to win your own set of dies.  See this post below for details.  Good luck and have a wonderful day!

NSD Prizes and Inspiration!!

Happy Scrapbooking day everyone!  Have you seen this new issue of the Paper Cut?  It's by GCD Studios and it's full of incredible inspiration!  There is a very cool sketch that you can do lots of things with.  I was able to flip and it create this layout.  I used mostly GCD Studios Splendor line of paper for it.

Thought you might want a little something to get ya going for this day when we all take a bit of time to have some scrappin' fun!  I will actually be teaching a layout class at a crop taking place at Memories and More.  We are going to have so much fun with prizes, good food and good friends!  I will take lots of photos and share them.

I hope you are able to celebrate in some way, but just in case, I wanted to make sure you had a chance to win a prize as well!  So, in this post bellow, you have an opportunity to win a Nestabilities Die Template set!  You have to comment in that post to be entered.

Have fun creating!

National Scrapbooking Day Die Give-Away

Good morning blog friends!  It's May!  Yay!!  One of my favorite months.  And it' also the last day that my son will be a twelve year old.  EEEak!  I can't believe he is entering "teenworld" tomorrow!  We are blessed with such and amazing young man and I am so proud of him!

Okay, on a lighter note, I am teaching my Shaped Card Class at Memories and More today and it's going to be a lot of fun!  I've added the last card here where I've used the Floral Oval with the JustRite Stampers Musical Background stamp.  I bet you can't tell that's a favorite combination of mine!  For the sentiment I used a Technique Tuesday stamp and then cut it out with S5-095 Tags and Flags.  The photo above is the complete set that we will be completing.

This weekend is National Scrappbooking Day and I wanted to celebrate my first class at Memories and More and this great weekend with a give-away.  I appreciate all my blog readers and followers so much that I try to do as many great RAKS as I can on my blog.  So, today I will be giving away one of my favorite Nestabilities® die templates.  You will have until next Tuesday, May 8th, midnight PST to leave a comment!

Labels Twenty

It's Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty.....AND, it could be YOURS!!

One more fun piece of news.  Have you picked up the latest issue of CARDS or Scrapbook Trends (May?)    I did last night.  There is a layout of Max (my puppy) and Kelsey in there...they are SO cute!  I'll have to track that down and post it soon.

Hope your day is full of inspiration!  Thank you so much for stopping by and good luck with the give-away!
Blessings,
Julie
