Sweet Times

It can’t possibly be the last day of September!!!!

Yesterday my oldest daughter turned 10 years old. I can hardly believe it! I remember my 10th birthday like it was yesterday!

We took her and a friend to Evergreen Wings & Waves. It’s a new, HUGE waterpark that’s quite a ways away from us.  It was worth it though!  They have 4 giant slides that come out of the top of this airplane.  It’s amazing!

This young lady has blossomed into the most incredible, beautiful girl.  Words cannot describe how grateful I am for her.
Happy Birthday my sweetie!

Welcome to the Spellbinders and Core’dinations Blog Swap!

This week Spellbinders™ has teamed up with our Core’dinations Color Core Cardstock® to showcase the wonderful ways our products work together!

I wanted to make a set as a little encouragement for my daughter’s teacher.  I think that teacher’s work so very hard and could always use extra appreciation when they aren’t expecting it!  He loves Starbucks, so I thought I’d include a few VIA’s and a masculine card.

I can’t tell you how much fun I am having with this line.  Love, love, love it!
This has been an extremely busy weekend for us or I would have kept going on my projects.  My 12 year old son had four open water dives to complete to become certified.  He passed all his tests and is now officially PADI certified!  Woot!  I am so proud of him.
Hope your week is starting off fabulous!

Fall Inspiration

We took a walk to the mailbox yesterday and at the last second I decided to grab my camera.  I love the early evening lighting that we get during the fall.
Ashley on walk edited

In this photo, I have blown out the horizon but just beyond the tips of the trees we can see the ocean when come to our mailbox. It makes the small, little walk so rewarding!
Also made these yesterday.  Must. stop. eating. them. LOL Seriously, these are the most delicious cookies evah! Something about the fall also makes me want to bake!
cookies
I actually made them to take to the teachers at the school.  I am good friends with a lot of them and I know that a little ‘pick me up’ can be nice during the first full week back to school.  I also decided to whip together a quick thank you card for them just to show my appreciation for all they do.

Supplies:  Cardstock – Bazzill, Papertrey Ink; Pattern Paper – Creative Imaginations; Stamp – Gina K Designs; Die template – SpellbindersPaper Arts (Labels Fourteen); Nestabling – Want2Scrap

This is the photo and inspiration that I got off Pinterest.  I got the recipe off of Kirbie’s Cravings blog.
Nutella chocolate chip cookies (adapted from JustJenn)
Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter (melted)
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup Nutella
1 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper or silpat mats.
2. Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt in a medium sized bowl.
3. In a separate bowl cream the butter,  sugar and the brown sugar using an electric mixer. Add the eggs and the vanilla and mix on medium speed until combined.
4. Add in the flour mixture on low speed until combined. Then add in the nutella and mix until Nutella is incorporated.
5. Using a large spoon, mix in the chocolate chips.
6. Scoop large tablespoons of dough and drop onto baking sheets. I usually shape my dough balls so that they are smooth and flatten them a little, to make the cookies bake prettier.
7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes.  Remove cookies from try and let them cool on wire racks.
Mmmmmm….nothing like the smell of fresh baked cookies!
I guess you could say I am trying to embrace the season even though I’m having a hard time letting go of summer.  I’ve done a few ‘fall’ posts for the Spellbinders Paper Arts blog as well.

Savor It.

Savor It.  I’m finding that I have a stronger and stronger desire to live each day like it’s my last.  Love people.  That is my priority.  That is my desire.
Layout 2
I created this layout as a quick documentation of how I am feeling right now.  It’s a snippet of me.  I used SpellbindersStandard Circle die templates and Basic Grey Curio pattern paper.  The fun strip at the top is a Basic Grey sticker and paper clip.  The letter stickers are Webster’s Pages Little Story Tellers.  Love those!  I decided to add some warmth with a Prima crochet flower and a KaiserCraft paper flower on top of that.
The winners of the Want to Make It Fabulous blog hop have been announced.  JustRite Stampers, Want2Scrap and Spellbinders Paper Arts have all announced them on their blogs.
For You Websters
I also have a card for you today!  I’m loving this card because the colors are some of my faves.  Bet you would have never guessed!  After sewing down the gorgeous Webster’s Pages paper, I cut/embossed/inked an Orchard Harvest Tags and Accent die template for the outer frame.  I used Kraft paper for the inner layer and then stamped on it with a Gina K. Designs Botanicals stamp.
The flowers are a combination of Spellbinders Anemone Flower Topper and Grand Peony Creations die templates.  The centers are embellished with dainty Sparklers from Webster’s Pages.
for you
I find myself reaching for the Classic Scallop Edgeabilities to cut/emboss on my projects time and time again.  Combined with the Classic Triple Scallop, it makes such a dainty edge at the bottom of the card!

Hope your day is filled with many blessings and that you are able to Savor them in every way possible!

For you!

For-You

Goodmorning! I have a shabby card to share with you today that is chalked full of Spellbinder™ goodness! I used Core’dination cardstock and Bazzill Kraft as my base and gorgeous Glitz Design paper for the rest.

The base is one Donna Salazar previous release Creative Book Pages. The two new release ones are Tear Drop Circles and Bird Sanctuary. After I cut/embossed the bird house, I sprayed mist on it, inked it and wiped white paint across it. Bird cages are a lot of fun to distress! I added a bit of Prima Trim to the bottom of the cage and used a foam square to make the bird more dimensional.

Hope you like it! I pray you have a fabulous Labor Day Weekend! Check back for an exciting Blog Hop that you will not want to miss starting Sept. 6th!
